Masar Ibrahim al Khalil (Abraham’s Path) is a hiking trail organized by a Palestinian organization promoting community-based tourism. The route is very well designed, and its footsteps can be followed with tour operators – either among groups or autonomously.
The route reaches famous cities, namely: Jenin, Nablus, Jericho, Bethlehem and Hebron, with a possible deviation to Jerusalem (which is often best to start with for this trek).
The trail of Abraham’s Path also crosses experiential villages like Burqin, Arraba, and Sanur, where visitors can connect with the communities and share special moments highlighting the rich culture.
Finally, the path enjoys visiting precious villages like Sabastya and Bani Na’im. The overall path can be performed along the whole 21-day journey, for a week, a weekend, or in only one day!

HOW TO WALK OR RUN MASAR IBRAHIM
ABRAHAM’S PATH

A number of one-day hiking trails have been designed to take you into a landscape unseen by most travelers, through a trace marked with a dotted line on the maps.
The trails connect some of the most beautiful Islamic shrines and historic towns in northern Palestine. The route itself passes through some of its finest countryside.
Longer trails have been designed also for travelers by car, who can cover longer distances in one day. The roads are marked with a continuous line.
This path starts and ends in the lively university town of Birzeit, which bustles with popular restaurants and cafes. Seeing that there’s so much to do, the trips can be adapted and modified to meet the needs and likes of your group. Walk as much or as little as you like. You can take the full-day hike and experience the spectacular Wadi Natuf or take a gentle stroll around the Ottoman streets of Deir Ghassaneh. A great idea would be to picnic under the shade of the olive trees and (even better!) enjoy a home-cooked meal with a Palestinian family.
However you travel, we welcome you to enjoy the beauty and hospitality of these hills. Masar Ibrahim al-Khalil is a long-distance cultural hiking route in Palestine that we are sure you will enjoy. The trail is 330 km long and extends from the village of Rummana northwest of Jenin to Beit Mirsim southwest of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron. The trail passes through more than 50 cities and villages.
